Golowan 2019...WHAT A WEEKEND!!!!

As I write another glorious Golowan weekend is winding down and I'm moved to reflect, is there a better place to be at Midsummer than Penzance? The fireworks and revels of Mazey Eve with the dancers winding sinuously through the streets, following Penglaz in the serpent dance. The early morning of Mazey Day as the Golowan Band awakens the town, the clamour and excitement of the parades through the day, families picnicking in Morrab Gardens. The slightly more chilled atmosphere of the waterfront on Quay Fair Day.

And everywhere there is music. We have so much talent in West Cornwall it's a bit scary but it’s also a huge privilege to be a part of such a vibrant community of musicians and music lovers😊. We played two sets, Mazey Day saw us on the bandstand in the beautiful Morrab Gardens, great fun and a lovely audience. On Quay Fair Day we played to a wonderful crowd on the Folk Stage, a huge thank you to everyone there, so many kind comments on our performance and we sold lots of CDs!

So, having just recovered from our exertions, there's another busy week in prospect😊. On Wednesday Ant will be hosting another ‘Open Mic at the Trevelyan Arms' in Goldsithney and then on Saturday we're opening the show at Trengwainton Garden's ‘Summer Sounds in the Orchard’ at 2.00. As if that wasn’t enough we will then be moving on to the Golden Lion in St Ives in the evening! Hope to see some of you at one (or all!) of these.
